Grey Street Media: Are you using your Google My Business page?
If you're unsure of what Google My Business (GMB) is, just think of the listing of your business’ operating information, reviews, posts, etc., that comes up when you search your business name. Although most of this information can likely be found on your website, GMB indexes the content you provide for consistency across Google Search and Maps.

In short, this improves your ranking in search results. When used correctly, GMB is a powerful tool that can increase your revenue and provide insights about your customers. On top of everything else, it is a free and valuable tool that you’d be crazy not to use.  If you are unsure about this tool, give Taylor a call at Grey Street Media! She'd be happy to chat with you more about it.

HGA Law: Here are the new changes coming for employers with Bill 32
Effective November 1, 2020, changes came into affect through Bill 32- Restoring Balance in Alberta’s Workplaces Act. The Bill is designed to promote fairness and productivity in the workplace. Some of the changes include:
  • simplifying when an employee’s earnings must be paid following termination of the employee to either 1) within 10 consecutive days after the end of the pay period that the termination occurred or 2) within 31 consecutive days after the last day of employment (whichever the employer chooses);
  • clarifying that employees continue to accumulate vacation time while on job-protected leave;
  • changing the formula to calculate the average daily wage of an employee for the purposes of calculating holiday pay.
